Acclaimed Sydney fine diner Tetsuya’s has extended its stay at its current location on Kent Street until July 2024.
The restaurant’s site was sold back in 2018, with Tetsuya’s confirming it would close in August after 22 years.
However, the move was pushed with reservations released “beyond August 2023”, via Instagram in a post that confirmed “the reopening of the restaurant at our new location has been delayed”.
Now, it’s official – Tetstuya’s will be staying put until next year, with no word yet on where it will move to beyond July.
Good Food stated back in July a spokesperson said there had been delays in securing a new restaurant location and reported the chef had been spotted looking at “real estate in Chippendale”.
While there is no word on just where the new Testuya’s will be located, we can confirm there will be news to come in early 2024.
Until then, reservations remain open and there’s ample time to try the signature trout.
