After 18 months of restoration, The Beach Hotel in Newcastle’s Merewether has swung open its doors.
Hotelier Glenn Piper is behind the new-look venue which hosts the main pub, along with eatery Peregrin, and retro takeaway shop Larrie’s which opened last year.
“The Beach Hotel has been more than just a pub; it has been a gathering place for friends and families across Newcastle for generations,” says Piper.
“We’re excited to once again open our doors and welcome our community to their home away from home.”
The Beach Hotel’s main bar and pub dining space is located on the ground floor and is serving up elevated pub favourites and flame-kissed goods inspired by the Aussie backyard barbeque.
Upstairs guests will find Australian bar and grill Peregrin spearheaded by Executive Chef Adam Rust.
Peregrin’s menu champions local produce with highlights including smoke Yumba abalone; Milly Hill lamb tomahawks; charcoal-fired Eastern Rock lobster; and Port Stephens oysters.
The Beach Hotel’s retro takeaway shop Larrie’s opened last May, and is continuing to serve new takes on Aussie classics such as the chiko roll, fish and chips, and chip buttys.
The Beach Hotel is also hosting a live music roster showcasing local musicians every week from Thursday through to Sunday.
The Beach Hotel is now open at 99 Frederick Street, Merewether, New South Wales.
