Casual dining venue The Farm Wholefoods has opened in the central Miller Street precinct, Cammeray. The Farm, which was created by Josh and Lisa Thompson, initially launched with a Potts Point Venue in 2015, followed by a Neutral Bay venue in early 2016.

The new Cammeray store is one of four venues set to open this year, with new locations planned for Brisbane, Baulkham Hills and Summer Hill. The concept has been developed with franchising as a priority, with the Thompsons rolling out a number of corporate owned and franchised stores in the coming months.

Recreating a farm-like experience in each of the dining venues, Josh Thompson draws on his architectural expertise for The Farm’s fitout, working with Cushla McFadden from design firm TomMarkHenry on the interiors to create a space filled with brickwork, black steel, recycled palette timber, concrete and lots of greenery and natural light.

Along with the opening, The Farm has launched a new seasonal menu, collaborating with nutritionist and whole foods cook Jacqueline Alwill from The Brown Paper Bag.  The caf menu offers a selection of breakfast, lunch and smoothie bowls, as well as a mix of salads, sandwiches, burgers and sides, with everything made in-house daily.

Dishes include the green start breakfast bowl, eggs served with broccoli, baby spinach, avocado, lemon, pesto, chilli flakes and dill; the acai smoothie bowl, acai mixed with berries, banana, cacao nibs, cinnamon, dates and coyo blended with coconut milk and topped with buckinis and seasonal fruit; and the goodness lunch bowl, chicken tossed with quinoa, baby spinach, sprouts, dill, Spanish onion, goats cheese, avocado and lemon.
