The team behind some of Melbourne’s most iconic cafes has announced the launch of their new venue, Liminal.
The Mulberry Group made news last year when they sold Top Paddock, Kettle Black and Higher Ground to a Melbourne-based hospitality group.
Liminal is slated to open in May in the lobby area of the T&G Building, and is described as ‘part café, part wine store, part event space, part marketplace’.
Martin Webster (Jackalope, Montalto) has been appointed executive chef and says there will be a focus on salads and sandwiches that will evolve according to seasonality. “They are a little bit of fun, pretty simple and super delicious,” says the chef. “We’ll be changing them regularly depending on what produce comes through from the market.
The venue also has an in-house rotisserie, with chicken and porchetta slated to become customer favourites.
There are close to 200 local and international wines on offer at the wine store, which customers can take home or enjoy in the venue.
Liminal will open Monday to Friday from 7am until 6pm.
