Located in one of Sydney’s most vibrant arts districts, Walsh Bay Kitchen has opened with a fit out that pays homage to its locale.

Walsh Bay Kitchen – part of the Trippas White Group – has taken over the site of the former Hickson Road Bistro at Roslyn Packer Theatre, with an offering of modern Australian fare with an Asian twist.

Head chef Kay Hwang says that he has worked closely with some of Sydney’s best providores to create a varied and innovative menu that champions the freshest and most interesting seasonal offerings.

The menu includes that likes of seared scallops with almond butter, squid ink, finger lime; wagyu flat iron, salsa verde and creamy potato; and jasmine tea smoked duck breast, parsnip with Korean BBQ sauce which is the house specialty.

In addition to the main restaurant, a new bar has also been launched, offering an extensive wine  and cocktail list.

“We are excited to finally open our doors to theatre goers and patrons,” says Walsh Bay Kitchen venue manager, Karen Roleff.

“We have worked hard to ensure our new restaurant offers something for everyone, from pre and post-theatre menus, delicious Modern Australian dining options with an Asian twist and a new bar area and menu that will surely impress.”

Trippas White Group managing director, Joseph Murray said that the Group was thrilled to be opening the new venue.

“It's another piece of the puzzle that has come together towards the new face and direction for Trippas White Group. We have been on a tremendous journey for the last two years, working hard on an innovative strategy that is seeing the new direction for Trippas White Group come to fruition. More exciting concepts are about to launch to market over the next six months, what people know of Trippas White Group is changing, watch this space!”
