The North Shore has had a serious boost to its food and beverage offering thanks to the opening of the Victoria Cross Metro station in North Sydney.
The first retailers have now opened their doors above the station, with more venues to launch in the coming months as construction nears completion.
Locals can now enjoy the food offerings of Marrickville Pork Roll, Mary’s, Dopa, Torotoro Ramen Bar, Two Good Co, and North Sandwiches, which have all made their way across the bridge for the first time.
Sushi Hub, Machi Machi, McDonald’s, Only Coffee, and Top Impressions Bakery join the retailers, with five additional concepts to open in a laneway on Miller Street later this year and a further seven hospitality offerings launching in 2025.
“Victoria Cross is reimagining the workplace experience, with seamless integration to popular hospitality brands … the precinct is an exciting place to work and visit,” says Lendlease Victoria Cross Project Director Alexander Frankl.
“The calibre of retail and amenities coming to the precinct reflects the ongoing revitalisation of the North Sydney CBD.”
Lendlease’s development of Victoria Cross has raised the bar for new precincts when it comes to sustainability, with all concourse retail tenants solely operating on electricity sourced from renewable sources.
In addition, retailers are required to reduce their embodied and operating carbon footprint to at least 20 per cent below the industry standard when it comes to fit-out and operations.
To celebrate the opening of the Metro station, select retailers are offering specials to welcome diners.
You can grab a $2 cheeseburger or a $3 Big Mac at McDonald’s, giveaways at Sushi Hub, and free items from Top Impressions Bakery.
