Hospitality businesses across Western Australia were recognised in the Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence held at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The winners in this year’s major categories included:
- Rambla on Swan, South Perth – Restaurant of the Year;
- Ribs & Burgers, Perth – Café of the Year;
- The University Club of Western Australia, Crawley – Caterer of the Year;
- Neal Jackson – Lifetime Achiever Award; and
- Cinnamon Park, East Vic Park – Consumer Vote Award.
In addition to receiving major awards, Rambla on Swan also won the award for Contemporary Australian Restaurant.
The University Club of Western Australia also won the award for Function/Convention Centre Caterer and Ribs & Burgers received an honourable mention in the Burger Bar category.
R&CA CEO Juliana Payne congratulated each of the finalists and winners of the awards in Western Australia on behalf of the Association.
“Tourism and hospitality are two key pillars of the Western Australian economy, and tonight’s awards showcase those individual hospitality businesses delivering sustained excellence in their respective areas of expertise,” says Payne.
“I’d like to congratulate each of the winners and finalists across all of tonight’s categories and thank the owners of these businesses for their hard work and efforts in making Western Australia’s hospitality sector the richly diverse environment that it is.
“As we have seen year after year, the Awards for Excellence is such a wonderful opportunity to recognise the shining lights of our industry and give many businesses owners the thanks and respect they deserve.”
Many of the winning businesses announced as part of the Western Australian Awards will compete at the national Awards for Excellence held at Peninsula in Melbourne on Monday 30 October.
