The Australian Hotels Association WA has announced the finalists for the Best Steak Sandwich Competition 2019.
The finalists were determined by the public, who have been voting for the best sandwich for months.
Finalists have been split into two categories: Country WA Finalists and Perth Finalists.
For Country WA, Northcliffe Hotel & Motor Inn, Settlers Tavern (Margaret River), The Bayview Bar (Bunbury) and the Endeavour Tavern (Lancelin) all made the cut.
Perth finalists include High Wycombe Tavern, C.Y. O’Connor Village Pub (Piara Waters), The Carlisle Hotel and The Karalee on Preston (Como).
The eight finalists will progress to a live cook-off at the AHA WA Hospitality Expo at Crown Perth from 14-15 May where the winner will be crowned.
“This competition is now in its twelfth year and again we have seen the quality of the classic steak sandwich go from strength to strength and patrons have responded accordingly, with a record number of votes received,” says AHA WA CEO Bradley Woods.
“The creativity that chefs put in to make the perfect steak sandwich is a cut above any other competition and there is no doubt the quality of this iconic menu item continues to improve.”
