The Australian Hotels Association Western Australia (AHA WA) has announced the finalists of its Best Steak Sandwich competition.
Five finalists from Perth and five from country Western Australia will now compete in a grand final cook-off. The country cook-off will take place at Hospitality Expo 2016 on Tuesday 10 May, while the Perth grand final will be on Wednesday 11 May at Crown Perth.
Bradley Woods, CEO of AHA WA, said “Dozens of pubs and bars have been judged by the public on their ability to make a great steak sandwich.
“The steak sandwich is an icon on any menu, because it pulls together home-style cooking, locally grown produce and still allows for creativity.”
The country finalists are:
- Cervantes Bar & Bistro, Cervantes
- Endeavour Tavern, Lancelin
- Matso’s Broome Brewery, Broome
- Tall Timbers, Manjimup
- Victoria Hotel, Toodyay
The Perth finalists are:
- CY O’Connor Village Pub, Piara Waters
- Karalee on Preston, Como
- Mundaring Hotel, Mundaring
- The Harbour Master, Fremantle
- The Merrywell, Crown Perth
