The winners of the 2018 South Australian Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence were announced this week in Adelaide.
Magill Estate Restaurant in Magill took out Restaurant of the Year, Café Alere in Bedford Park was named Café of the Year and Caterer of the Year went to The National Wine Centre of Australia in Adelaide.
Several businesses were also inducted into the Hall of Fame in their respective categories, including Red Cacao chocolate shop in Stirling, Magill Estate Restaurant, Gaucho’s Argentinian Restaurant in Adelaide and Golden Boy Thai restaurant in Adelaide.
Vittorio Ventura received the Lifetime Achievers Award for his contribution to the South Australian restaurant industry, with particular respect to Italian cuisine.
Restaurant & Catering Australia CEO Juliana Payne congratulated all the winners and praised their contribution to the state’s hospitality industry.
“All of tonight’s Awards are warranted recognition for the exceptional service and culinary excellence displayed by a number of individuals and businesses across South Australia,” she said.
“For many of the Awards, this has been over a period of 12 months, however, for our Hall of Fame and Lifetime Achiever Awards, this has been over the course of many years and decades.
“We are immensely proud to be able to be able to recognise all these stellar contributions as part of our annual Awards for Excellence.”
