On Monday 23 October, Women in Hospitality will host its final event: men championing women.
WOHO will partner with Matt Moran and hospitality group Solotel for an evening which explores the roles of both genders in the hospitality industry.
Taking place at the Clovelly Hotel, the evening will consist of roaming canapés, including braised octopus with salsa verde and fried chicken with ginger, a seated main course by Chiswick bookended with cured meats and sides, and dessert canapés by the Paddo Inn Bar & Grill.
“It’s vital as leaders that we encourage women to join the industry, assure them that there are plenty of opportunities and support their growth and development throughout their careers,” says Moran.
During the evening, delicious. editor-in-chief and WOHO board member Kerrie McCallum will take to the floor with Moran as well as Opera Bar’s head chef Laura Baratto and general manager of Paddo Inn, Chelsea Carter. The panel will talk about their experiences in the industry and the importance of men championing women in the workplace.
“Due to the nature of hospitality, I think it’s important to support women not only with their career goals but also their personal futures, which may include building families,” says Carter. “Solotel has been incredibly supportive of me and my career goals. It’s great to have such influential leaders with Bruce Solomon and Matt Moran at the helm.”
