Young Henrys have announced a limited-release brew set to launch nationwide on 1 May.
Motorcycle Oil is a black, hoppy porter available in a 500mL can with an ABV of 5.5 per cent. And if you’re curious about the name, Motorcyle Oil was inspired by a Newtown local who rode a black Indian motorbike.
Young Henrys co-founder Oscar McMahon revealed Motorcyle Oil originally started out as an experimental brew last year between friends to celebrate commonalities.
“It was a hoppy porter primarily consumed by us and our mates,” says McMahon. “This year, we’re bringing it back, bigger and blacker in our first ever 500mL can … to see just how many mates we actually have.”
The malt bill consists of Weyerman Munich 1 and carafe, pale, light crystal, rolled oats and Bairds roasted barley. Hops include US Warrior, Centennial, Cascade and Citra along with Australian Cascade.
Motorcycle Oil will be stocked at the major retailers nationally and select pubs, bars and independent bottle shops.
