Zeus Street Greek, a family owned group of fresh-casual eateries, is opening its first ACT venue on Thursday 16 February. The new outlet will be the group’s eleventh.

Situated at Shop 7, 21 Genge Street, in Canberra Civic, will serve Zeus’ newly launched menu that fuses old with new. The offering combines Modern Greek street food with Australian produce in a relaxed contemporary environment.

Zeus Canberra City will provide a healthy, customisable and high quality offering suits a range of experiences from a mid-week take away to dining out.

The classics include the Uncle Tzimmy pita range, which features meat from the Souvla cooked traditionally on long skewers over hot charcoal, wrapped in pita bread with tomato, tzatziki, onion, paprika and Zeus’ chips. Zeus chicken and lamb are both free from antibiotics and hormones and Zeus pork is 100 percent Australian and sow stall free.

New menu additions include two new beef pitas using Wagyu Beef; the Piccalilli Pork pita, which puts a Greek twist on the classic mustard and pork pairing; and the Otto pita, which combines chicken schnitzel with a zingy preserved lemon mayo, Aegean slaw and caramelised onions.

Zeus will employ 35 local staff and customers will be able to choose to dine-in or take away, and in time will have the ability to order online or via the Zeus Street Greek app.

The fit out spans a light filled corner block, offering a relaxed and contemporary industrial inspired setting. The store design pays tribute to the authenticity of the Greek kitchen within a bespoke ‘street’ customer experience.

Co-founder of Zeus, Costa Anastasiadis, said:  “We’ve had customers trekking from Canberra to visit our Sydney locations and the question we often hear is ‘when will Zeus come to the ACT’.

“There has been such a positive response surrounding the Canberra opening, and the new location will truly embody Zeus’ Philosophy of Food mantra that is carried throughout the brand Australia wide. It’s a very exciting step for us and we’re very much looking forward to becoming an active part of the local community.”

Zeus Canberra City will be open 11:30am–9:30pm Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday and 11:30am–10:00pm Friday and Saturday.
