Three Australian foodservice businesses claimed awards at this year’s Restaurant & Bar Design Awards, which attracted over 860 entries from over 70 countries.

Now in their seventh year, the awards program is the only one in the world dedicated to the design of food and beverage spaces, covering everything from ships, airports and burger vans to Michelin-starred restaurant and museums.

The big winners for 2015 are The Jane, a restaurant in Antwerp (Belgium designed by Piet Boon), which was named Best Overall Bar, and Dandelyan, a bar at the Mondrian London (UK designed by Design Research Studio) which claimed the crown for Best Overall Restaurant.

The big international winners were Archie Rose Distilling Co, located in Sydney’s Rosebery and designed by Acme & Co, which won the Best International Bar award, and The Jane, which was named Best International Restaurant.

A total of 38 awards were presented at the winners function, which took place at London’s Old Truman Brewery on 1 October.

Other Australian award winners include:

  • Bond Lounge, designed by Hachem – Nightclub category
  • ACME, designed by Luchetti Krelle – Australia and Pacific restaurant
  • Archie Rose Distilling Co, designed by Acme & Co, Australia and Pacific bar
