On 11 September, The Australian reported that Urban Purveyor Group, which was acquired by Quandrant Private Equity in 2015, had potential plans to buy Rockpool Group operations.

It's not clear from the article which parts of the business would be purchased.

The article said: "Apparently Quadrant’s Urban Purveyor Group could be poised to strike a deal to buy the operation that counts some of central Sydney’s best restaurants within its stable, such as Rockpool and Spice Temple."

While the headline referred instead to Rockpool Consulting, which was formed in agreement with Qantas and works with the airline's international and domestic food and beverage teams, Q Catering, cabin crew management and catering centres to deliver restaurant-quality experiences in-flight.

However, in a statement provided to Hospitality, the Rockpool Group said that while group directors, Neil Perry and Trish Richards, have had informal discussions with parties interested in investing in the business, nothing has been agreed to.
